Villa Le Buche

We had a wonderful time while at Villa Le Buche. The staff was wonderful and immediately responded to every question and concern. The location was centrally located in Tuscany and perfect for going on many day trips. The villa was gorgeous and fit our family of 23 adults 3 babies quite nicely. We had one overall issue in all the bedrooms was the air conditioning not getting cool enough. Despite setting thermostats down to 23 they never seemed to get below 27 which made for warm sleeping as the temps were very high. Our second big issue was ants swarming into villa to the point where the annex room was swarming in suitcases. There is only one small washer/dryer on site and with a place that large and that many people it proved to be a challenge especially when the cleaning folks were using it as well. Every planned activity dinner, tasting, and cooking classes were wonderful.

I led a yoga retreat at this wonderful property. The staff was responsive and great to work with. Property is clean and well kept. I highly recommend Le Buche!

I'm a travel agent who led a group of 25 other people. We used every one of the 13 bedrooms in the villa which all have their own bathrooms, air conditioning unit, refrigerator, hair dryer and window or walk out patio. 5 of the units are in a separate building right outside of the main house. The villa is sparkling clean, too!

We had ordered the daily breakfast service for a fee and it was fresh and delicious each morning. They have a gourmet kitchen for use as it used to be a restaurant. They also have a charcoal area in the kitchen if you wish to grill or make pizzas.
There are plenty of seating spaces and livingrooms' along with a long table seating in the area off the kitchen which has glass sliding doors with a view of the pool.
The pool is heated but was not heated during our stay. It was still warm out but the pool was a tad too cold. I would suggest asking in advance to have the pool heated.

Since there is also a winery on site, they offer a wine fridge where you can sign out bottles of wine for a price. That was convenient!

As for water, they sell bottles of water for 2 euro. I think it would be nice to add a water cooler to the house. They also need more water drinking glasses. Wine glasses are plentiful.
They also have this AMAZING spa area downstairs below the house which includes a large Jacuzzi spa tub (needs to be heated more though.. just luke warm) sauna rooms, 3 lounge rock chairs, some workout machines, a massage table room and they even have a laundry room for use with a stackable washer and dryer along with a drying rack and steamer.
I planned tours in advance. If you do not have a car, you will have to do this as there are no local taxis or Ubers. The house management can arrange a driver for you but it comes with a price.

We had 4 vans take us from Rome with a 45 minute stop to the grocery store to stock up for the week. (get paper plates and plastic cups for water) I recommend asking for some use of the freezer though because a lot of our meat and shrimp went bad since the fridge was so packed. Also, keep the meat on the top shelf and not the bottom. Live and learn.. They do have an ice machine but since there were so many of us, it kept running out. I would suggest that they install a larger ice machine.
We had scheduled a cooking class the evening of our arrival directly with the villa service. It was amazing and I highly recommend it!
We also rented e-bikes one day but I do NOT recommend it. There is much too much gravel and hills and a lot of us fell and got cuts and bruises. There is a small town of Sarteano that we planned to ride to but that was a bust.
3 of the days, we had pre-scheduled wine tours. We went to Montepulciano, Montelcino and Siena... all within 45 minutes to an hour and 10 minutes away from the villa.
We also did the onsite wine tour at the villa and met the owner Riccardo and his father Giuseppe who are just wonderful people. Their wine is FANTASTIC!! They also served us a light snacking lunch.
Some of the guests also arranged for private massages through the villa staff for 120 euro and they all loved it!

On the final night of our stay, I hired a private dinner through the villa contact and hired a karaoke DJ for my birthday party. It was just amazing! Every part of the dinner was made from scratch including gnocchi, a delicious beef dish that tasted like yummy tender pot roast with fresh veggies and individual homemade pear cake with a vanilla sauce. We purchased a few bottles of the wine from the fridge and had a beautiful dinner party!

The grounds and views are just beautiful and the vineyards were filled with beautiful purple grapes ready for the harvest.
Every guest of the 26 people who stayed agreed that they loved their stay and want to return. I would not hesitate!

Fantastic place with wonderful accommodations, friendly and very supportive staff, excellent facilities. Just a dream of a place to spend the week.

We have rented villas throughout Italy for over 20 years and Villa Le Buche tops them all. From the marvelous Lucia who oversaw our stay, to Florika who managed the spa, to the wonderful Chef and staff who cooked and served delightful meals, it was a 5 star experience all the way. We also enjoyed the most excellent wines and olive oil available at the Villa (the Rose was a favorite). Villa Le Buche provides the perfect accommodations and location for a perfect week in Tuscany with family and friends. We will be back in the future to enjoy this most beautiful and luxurious Villa.
