Villa Il Caggio

My family of 6 adults and three children had the pleasure of staying at VILLA IL CAGGIO from September 13th to 20th, 2025.
The stay was booked through the Marriott Home and Villas website and prior to booking I had reached out through the booking website to obtain some additional details about the property from the property manager. I received a very timely response from Cristina from Posarelli Villas who answered all my questions. Subsequently I booked the Villa and once confirmed I was provided contact information of the concierge Valentina Nardi (Posarelli Villas and Events & Concierge) who later provided check in details and a contact of the on-site manager Emma. She also assisted with booking our on-site chef for two nights and a wine tour.
Upon arrival at the winery/reception I found Emma to be very welcoming and informative She escorted our family to the Villa and provided a tour of the property. The Villa is at the end of a gravel road approximately 3 kilometers from the winery/reception and is secluded amongst the beautiful vast acres of olives trees and grape vines.

Although the Villa is dated, the amount of space in terms of sitting areas, bedrooms (7) and washrooms was amazing. There is also a separate building (as noted on the listing) which provided an additional bedroom, washroom, sitting area and kitchen -perfect for a couple. The fenced pool area was a hit with our grandchildren and adults and despite not being heated was still perfect for swimming. We received daily pool service, garbage removal and throughout our stay did not experience any issues. The most positive aspect of this Villa was the short driving distance to area attractions and towns such San Gimignano where we visited several times (a car is a must) with fabulous restaurants and shopping. The CO OP in town was great for picking up groceries. We visited several other beautiful towns and restaurants as recommended by Emma as well experienced the wines offered by the on-site winery. If anyone is looking for great space and privacy I would definitely recommend VILLA IL CAGGIO for your next vacation. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday at Villa Il Caggio, we had a few problems with the air conditioning but Emma was very efficient and pleasant in doing her best to solve them. We were rather disappointed in finding the television wasn’t a smart set having pacifically enquired before hand and told there was.
The holiday was a success, we found the villa to be comfortable and clean.

We had a wonderful holiday and hope to return to this amazing house. It is a great place for a family get together. The pool and outdoor areas are beautiful and well maintained. The house is well designed - each bedroom has a bathroom inside it. An excellent place to rest - with excellent black-out shutters we slept very well. The only tricky bit was the gravel road leading up to the house - be careful especially if arriving at night for the first time! Still well worth it for the total peace and quiet. Highly recommend this house for a holiday to remember!

The villa was wonderful. It provided ample space for our family and friends, making our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The location was serene and picturesque, offering a perfect getaway. Ema was incredibly responsive and always helpful, addressing all our needs promptly. Additionally, the house was well-equipped.

The villa is spacious, clean, very well equipped. Contact with the manager, Mrs. Emma, ​​at a high level, even before collecting the keys and returning them. The welcome wine was a beautiful start to our stay. We recommend a walk to Panizzi for a tasting, the views are unforgettable and the wine tastes better. Even though we left early, no problems were caused to us. The stay was wonderful, Tuscany and this place are magical.

Pool is great. Rooms comfortable and each has an en suite. No fight over showers! Great spaces, nice to have a BBQ Rosemary and bay leaves at your doorstep to add to your recipes. Beautiful view from outdoor dining area. Well worth the walk up the road to watch sunset over the hills. Property in need of some minor care, a bedroom door doesn t close easily, noisy clicking AC in a few rooms, road could use a little grooming. We also recommend cutting hedges to enjoy beautiful view from outdoor dining area. Very accomodating owner, arrived as promised to open gate and show us around. We had to check out early and she was friendly and return to our call promptly to verify our stay had been satisfactory. loved walking up the road to enjoy view of vineyards such a pleaseure discover San Gimignsno wish we would have had time for a wine tasting up The road.

A beautiful villa in the most spectacular setting. Clean, comfortable and wonderfully designed. However there should have been some basic checks done prior to our arrival. The air-conditioning was not working, there were no pool towels for the beautiful pool, there were no wine glasses, odd bits and pieces were broken. Whilst all problems were resolved quickly whilst we were there by the lovely staff, a simple check ahead of us arriving would have been helpful. A welcome pack with instructions on what to do with rubbish, how things worked or just to say hello etc would be good too. Also given the level, spec and cost of the villa maybe a bottle of wine, some milk or just a bottle of water on arrival would be a nice touch.

What a discover!!!

Het was precies zoals ik gehoopt had, geweldige plek.

Posto incantevole e tenuto benissimo. Camere accoglienti e spaziose. Attrezzature di cucina sufficienti. Da rivedere il forno, ha le guarnizioni difettose e disperde calore, a discapito dei consumi. Accoglienza ottima e grande disponibilità e flessibilità sugli orari. Andrebbe indicato meglio che per arrivare alla villa occorre percorrere circa 2,5 km di strada sterrata, non tutte le auto possono raggiungerla agevolmente. Siamo stati benissimo ed anche il biliardo a disposizione ci ha permesso di passare delle giornate in casa godendo della compagnia del gruppo di amici. Dintorni splendidi da visitare sicuramente, tra i borghi più vicini San Gimignano, Volterra e Certaldo meritano una menzione. Ancora grazie. Sicuramente ci rivolgeremo di nuovo a questa società in futuro.

Villa Il Caggio was superb for us. We had twelve adults (all family) and allowed us to just spend the week together perfectly, most of it in the pool! With the towns of San Gimignano and Certaldo less than fifteen minutes away, this villa allows you to relax in peaceful and quiet surroundings, but also the Tuscan region is within reach quickly should you wish to explore, as several of our party did on other days.

Séjour magnifique, une vue à couper le souffle, le chemin pour y parvenir est assez difficile, mais l'arrivée vaut le coup. nous avons passé d'excellentes vacances à Larniano, la piscine a beaucoup plu aux petits-enfants qui ne voulaient plus partir. une adresse à conserver

outstanding location with a fantastic view, very calm. however a basic heating system should be included even in May especially at night. the house is very large but lacks a little more Toscanian decoration touch. overall a place to be discovered

An incredible villa in the heart of the Tuscany. Any photos posted don’t do justice to the beauty of the place. The outside table behind the house is extremely undervalued and is the best place to enjoy the views of neighboring vineyards while you enjoy a grill. Watching the sunsets and night sky from the incredibly chill pool is also quite an experience. The people at Panizzi were incredibly nice and welcoming. Needless to say, I highly recommend this house to anyone who wants to have a true Tuscan vacation.

Villa assolutamente da raccomandare. Si trova un po' distante dalle altre case quindi si rimane in pace ma comunque solo a 10 min. da San Gimignano. Vacanza perfetta per un gruppo di amici come il nostro. Casa e piscina pulita e in ottime condizioni. Giardino grandissimo.
Ci ritorneremo sicuramente!!
