San Carlo

Very well maintained venue located in a wonderful point on a hill. Excellent equipment and swimming pool. Helpful owner in both local and touristic aspects

San Carlo is and amazing property and it’s location is stunning, very well equipped and with excellent faxilities. The local restaurant (600 meters away) was amazing as was the cafe and ice cream outlets in the local village. Great pizza too. Fantastic pool and surrounding areas. Perfect for our family of 6. Littitia was amazing, so helpful and professional.

This property was perfect for our family. Forty minutes from Florence. One of the most spectacular views and, on the day we were just too tired to do anything, a great pool by which to hang out. The rustic farmhouse was very cozy with plenty of room for our group ( we had 6 but it could accommodate more) plenty of bathrooms and very beautiful grounds. The host was extremely helpful, and assisted us when we needed help.

We had a wonderful week at San Carlo. There were seven of us all family on the trip of a lifetime. The villa was more than we expected. Letizia the owner greeted us and showed us around. She was very welcoming and proud of her home. She told us the history of the house and even did some grocery shopping for us. Gener is the caretaker, and he lives on the property. He was available at all times and Letizia was very responsive to all of our needs. The house has two living rooms a dining room pool and Billard room. 5 bedrooms 4 bathrooms. We had plenty of room to spread out. The kitchen was well stocked, and the giant breakfront had any glass and dish you could name. We hired a chef for 3 nights through Valentina from Posarelli Villas. That was a real treat. Enrico and his wife Simona were wonderful, and the food was delicious. The pool was wonderful. The water was a little too cold in May to swim, but the sun was hot, and the view could not be beat. There is a covered patio overlooking the pool and we spent a lot of time there. It overlooks the vineyard and the olive trees. The sunsets from there were amazing. We drove to Lucca, Siena and had a driver take us to a winery 2 hours away for dinner one night. It was a great time, and we will be back.

The House is spacious and the owner very friendly.
For a group of friends it is a perfect place to stay.
The single beds were a but small and mattresses in need of an upgrade.
Als the table tennis and biljards can have a little love.
We left new table tennis bats and net but the biljard could use some new sticks and balls.
The location and area are beautiful ant early November is perfect for olive oil tasting.

We spent a short break at the villa with our family. The house is very spacious and full of character and is perfect for a family gathering or a group of friends. Our host was friendly and very helpful. We unfortunately, due to the weather, didn’t get an opportunity to use the swimming pool but we have no doubt it would be perfect in warmer weather. The house is also very conveniently located for visiting Florence. We drove to a neighbouring train station in Montelupo and got the train from there that run very frequently. It saves the hassle of parking in Florence! All in all, we had a lovely stay.

We had a lovely time at this place. Great house with al the things we needed. Good beds! and Airco threw the hole building. Nice swimmingpool with a great patio. Sunbeds available and there is a lovely view over the valley. The place has lots of privacy. We are planning te go back there!

Excellent stay. Everything you could have wanted, well equipped, nice big pool. Rooms all good with A/C.
Location is excellent - very handy for Florence which we visited on the bus very easily, as car parking is a nightmare. 45 mins from San Gimignano.
There are numerous excellent (and good value) restaurants within a 5-7km radius. Highly recommended

Vår familj, vuxna, ungdomar och barn hade en underbar vecka. Vi lagade fantastiska måltider, och vilka COOP det finns i Italien! Köket och loggian var härliga. Terassen vid poolen och allt badande i poolen behövdes i värmen. Våra vackra sovrum och vardagsrum njöt vi av. Utflykter till Florens, Volterra, San Gimingano och vingårdar. Vi hade en riktig familjevecka. Kul med bordtennis och biljard. Toscana är det vackraste landskap som vi vet. Hoppas att kunna återvända. Ciao! Familjen Lindblad från Stockholm

Es war eine sehr entspannte und erholsame Woche mit der gesamten Familie. Erik war ein sehr aufmerksamer und freundlicher Hausverwalter. Wir wären gerne noch eine Woche geblieben!!

Nous étions 4 couples avec 2 adolescents. La maison est très spacieuse et offre de grands espaces autant à l'intérieur qu'à l'extérieur. A bonne distance de Florence, de Sienne et de San Gimignano. La décoration intérieur n'est pas moderne, mais correspond tout à fait au charme de ce type de maison italienne. La salle de jeu est un plus et la piscine même fraiche a fait le bonheur des plus courageux. Les autres ont pu se détendre au bord de la piscine sur les transats mis à notre disposition. Une salle de bain par famille ce qui est agréable. La literie est de qualité. La maison est très bien équipée, et si jamais il manquait quelque chose, Erick était toujours disponible pour nous rendre service. Il était d'une grande gentillesse.

This property is magical! It was the backdrop for a reunion of 7 of us who live all over the world. The house is exactly what we were hoping for: a magical, rustic villa in the remote hills of Tuscany. We had plenty of space to cook together and share meals in the large dining room. More than enough bedrooms and bathrooms for everything. Plenty of lounge space and the ultimate bonus - the game room. The pool was perfection, even though we only had one nice day to use it.
I also must mention the caretaker onsite - Erik - who is so incredibly friendly and helpful! We was so kind to our group and even provided extra ping pong balls after our intensive tournaments resulted in a broken ball.
I cannot recommend this property enough! You will not regret it!

It has been a great experience to be at San Carlo. The Villa is superb, much better than in the photos. It is huge, very well decorated, with style and a very nice and good furniture. The owner is a very nice lady. Erik, the person in charge of our stay, was quite nice and diligent. Fantastic swimming pool. The countryside is superb, surrounding with olive trees. I may say that the porch may need a little of improvement with the furniture. There is just a nice table and chairs. Some sofas or something similar would help. This is not a criticism, the photos shows exactly what you receive, it is just a suggestion.
So magnificent place and magnificent times, we will come back.

A rustic villa, a bit rough round the edges and in need of TLC. The location was good, a lovely restaurant within walking distance. Very peaceful and lovey views from the pool area.

We spent a fantastic 2 weeks at San Carlo and had some very hot weather so really enjoyed the pool area in particular. The house is a great base for Florence, Pisa and many of the historic hilltop towns of Tuscany and the scenery is spectacular.

Die Einrichtung ist stilvoll für alle, die die Toskana und das Nichtperfekte mögen.
Auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen. Gerade mit Kindern super, da ein großer sehr gepflegter Pool da ist.

Met onze kinderen en kleinkinderen hebben wij een fantastische week gehad in Casa San Carlo. Het huis ligt heel vrij en het uitzicht vanaf het zwembad is adembenemend. Je voelt je gelijk thuis als je aankomt. Dat is mede dankzij de hartelijke ontvangst door de eigenaresse en door de beheerder Eric. Hij staat voor je klaar en zorgt ervoor dat de tuin en het zwembad er pico bello bijliggen. De plek beviel zo goed dat we de meeste tijd in en rond het huis verbleven. De keuken leent zich uitstekend voor het maken van maaltijden, alles is aanwezig! De tafeltennistafel is veelvuldig gebruikt en er was buiten ruimte genoeg om spannende potjes jeu de boules te spelen. Bij het zwembad is het heerlijk vertoeven op de ligbedden of in de schaduw van het overdekte terras. Kortom een heerlijke plek waar we met pijn in ons hart afscheid van hebben genomen en waar we hopelijk nog eens terug zullen komen.

Lovely villa, great outside space and cool house in the heat

It was unfortunate that we came during a cold week in April because the central heat was turned off. The only heat was in the bedrooms upstairs with individual heaters. It was uncomfortably cold in the villa. We spent our days touring the countryside in our warm vehicle.
I might enjoy a return trip in a warmer month.

A very spacious and comfortable villa in a beautiful location. We had a wonderful week at San Carlo and would strongly recommend this villa.
The local restaurant ll Focolare was wonderful and had a lovely outdoor garden area and served brilliant food and wine. The town of Montespertoli is a 10 minute car ride away and has a good Coop supermarket.
Fantastic pool with very helpful step entry for the younger children. The lovely shaded pool side terrace was very popular with our whole family.
A very big thank you to Erik who was always so willing to help us. For example, he arranged for a taxi to take us to the local town and responded very quickly to any small problems we had such as requiring a second cot by the pool area. He was so friendly and helpful and always available - he was brilliant. Thank you

Un gruppo di dieci amici che ha trascorso la vacanza in questa fantastica Villa. Personale cordiale e gentile. Pulizia ottima. Piscina fantastica, mancherebbe illuminazione notturna di questa! Posizione tattica per raggiungere facilmente Firenze e i borghi. Ci torneremo sicuramente!

Very accurate photos and lovely old farmhouse, swimming pool larger than average. On a quiet road by a tiny hamlet so very peaceful. Rooms are large with tall ceilings so when outside is very hot it’s cool inside. All the bedrooms have air conditioning and a ceiling fan. Four bathrooms with bath or shower. The kitchen is a large space with all the utensils you would need. I loved the large wardrobes in most rooms and the fireplace upstairs is so big it has a seat inside!

A few suggestions overall to improve even more: a larger boiler so many people can shower at the same time. A full pool ball set so the game is useable. The piano needs tuning. A full supply of bin bags/toilet rolls for the duration of the stay.

Otherwise the experience here was wonderful

Wonderful villa. Plenty of space. Two very large living rooms and lovely spacious bedrooms. With architectural influence the villa is delightfully decorated with beautiful antique furniture. I have stayed here 4 times now and always want to go back.
Great location. Close to Florence ( 30 mins) and Montepulciano (1 hr 30 min). Local markets near by ((Tues Montespertoli 12 mins).
Nearby local restaurants cannot be beat. Tuscan dining at its best. Best pizza place ever in Montagnana along with best steak restaurant across the street. Coop store less than 15min drive in Monstespertoli
Pool area very well maintained . They have very large comfortable deck chairs poolside with an additional 6 chairs in a covered area.
The area nearby the Villa is a true reflection of a Tuscan fantasy . There are olive fruit trees along with many grow orchards nearby. The view of the valley is breathtaking.

There were 9 of us staying at this lovely villa, we never felt crowded and were very comfortable. Everything is as pictured. Beautiful setting in the hills of Tuscany. Eric is the caretaker and was incredibly helpful (he and the owner live in two houses adjacent to the villa but you would never know they were there unless you went looking for them). Eric brought us fresh figs and pears grown on the property! Setting is beautiful and I highly recommend eating dinner just down the road at Fattoria Il Turco, farm to table delicious food (you can walk there!), only open Thur-Sun and make a reservation. Lovely wineries all around, the location was great for visiting other areas - anywhere from 30-45 minutes you can be in another beautiful place. I highly recommend Podere San Carlo!

We stayed on this property for 14 days and really had a great time. We were 10 people; grandmother, grandfather, aunt, uncle, mother and father with 4 teens between thirteen and nineteen. Everyone loved relaxing by the pool. The owners were very nice and stayed close by so we could ask if there was anything we were wondering about. We still had our privacy and didn't see them much. The kitchen was very well equipped, so we cooked almost every evening. By the kitchen there was a nice outdoor dining area where we ate all meals. There is also some good restaurants in the area. The landscape around this olive farm is like taken out of a Tuscany movie. Recommend getting up early to go for a walk. The light is wonderful in the morning and evening. There is a direct bus to Florence from the main road, walkingdistance. We recommend a stay at this property and would love to return ourselves as well.

Excellent séjour. Maison spacieuse avec une très belle piscine (non utilisée, il faisait trop froid) et très bien située pour visiter Florence et Sienne. Propriétaire très sympathique et parlant français.

Das Haus ist etwas altertümlich eingerichtet, was aber sehr gut zu dem Haus und den schönen Böden und Decken passt. Der Besitz ist nicht echt auf dem Lande, obwohl man sich eigentlich so fühlt und alle Vorteile geniessen kann: es ist ruhig mit einer wunderbaren Aussicht. In dem Ort Montagnana kann man auch zu Fuss einkaufen gehen (ein bisschen Zeit braucht man allerdings) und es gibt eine Pizzeria, die zwar nicht schön ist, aber die beste Pizza der Welt backt.
Das Schwimmbad und die überdachte Terrasse sind ein sehr schöner Platz um zu entspannen. Alles in allem war es wunderbar. Vielen Dank an das Posarelli-Team

We were a party of 10 and this Villa was fantastic ! The photos represent the villa perfectly. It was very clean and beautifully decorated. Appliances worked very well. We loved sitting out by the pool in the evening. The owners were very welcoming and made sure that we had everything that we needed. It was situated very well for day trips to Pisa, Firenze, Volterra, San Gimi, Sienna etc. Save time to enjoy this property though!!
