Villa Eftychia

We travelled to Villa Eftychia as a group of 4 adults (2 couples), looking for a comfortable base to enjoy some hiking and sightseeing around this striking area of Crete. Our stay was great. The villa is lovely, had everything we needed and proved to be relaxing, comfortable and came complete with some friendly, outdoor cats!
Beyond the recommendation on the villa, we also wanted to recommend the owners. Roxani, George (and Ira the dog) are brilliant.
They were attentive, available (without being overbearing) and clearly understood the type of break we were hoping for; offering ideas and local knowledge about some fantastic walking spots and places to explore. They even provided some fresh eggs from the family chickens!
All-in-all a memorable trip and were we to find ourselves back in the area, we’d not hesitate to knock on the door of Villa Eftychia

Wow, what a villa! The property was like our own slice of heaven on the wonderful island of Crete. The villa is only minutes away from the Almyrida beachfront by car, yet somehow seems secluded and private, allowing us to enjoy the best of both worlds. The owners, George and Roxanne, were simply the best hosts we have ever had. Always offering advice and tips for local attractions or the best tavernas, beaches, or supermarkets nearby. The little smallholding right next to the villa with hens, geese, rabbits, and even a beautiful peacock was a great bonus that gave the kids plenty of extra excitement, particularly each day as George would arrive and allow the kids to join him and help feed them, chase the hens, or occasionally provide us with the freshest eggs for breakfast.
On our last day, we encountered some issues when one of the kids fell ill, which made our trip to the airport somewhat chaotic. Roxanne came to rescue and immediately came to our assistance, helping us get packed and sorted and wishing us off with her ever-present smile. She even gave our two kids a little parting gift: a cat-themed crafting pad and a photo of one of the kittens living at the villa, as our kids had totally fallen in love with them.

All in all, we cannot recommend this villa enough. It is beautiful, even better than the photos show, spacious, perfectly clean, equipped with everything one needs, and suited our little family perfectly.

The most beautiful, well looked after & loved villa I have had the pleasure of staying in, Roxanne & George the owners are a dream, they have put so much time and effort into their house it’s truly loved - From the niche handmade furniture, to all of the modern tech you would need, it’s unreal. Feels like the middle of no where as you are not next to Neighbours but in reality you are a 5 minute drive from the beautiful sandy beaches and crystal clear water in the nearest town. Can’t wait to come back. Thank you!

5 star service from the hosts/owners at a 5 star villa. The hosts showed great hospitality throughout our stay, answered swift at our requests and helped out in a great manner. The villa was new, fresh and clean and it was spacious both inside and outside. The place was quite and by it self but still just a 5 minute drive from the village Almyrida. There was a small farm next door the property which was of great fun for the children and the owners provided fresh eggs every morning.

Roxani and George are very nice and caring hosts.
The pools are really great as well as the lovely arranged places to relax dispersed on the property.
The location is not too close, but also not too far from the town centre and you can enjoy wonderful views.

What a beautiful place to stay on the Island of Crete! The garden with pool area offers plenty of space of space for children to play (all enclosed) and the rooftop terrace, with the 2nd pool, offers a great place to relax and enjoy some stunning views of the bay.
Though barely used, the BBQ area is set up well (even with blow dryer to get the fire started :-) ). The kitchen is fully equipped, with about all that you could imagine necessary to cook up a nice meal.
If you are missing anything, the host(ess) is always at your disposal. She and her husband made sure our stay was as pleasant as possible. From meeting us in Almyrida (afraid we would not find the property), to a nice welcome basket and the occasional fresh eggs from the free range chickens adjacent to the property.
What was also extra pleasant was the fact that they even offered a late checkout to us, because they had not new guests arriving that day and our flight out of Chania was late in the evening.

Overall, Eftychia is a lovely, well-equipped villa in a good location. The separate shallow section of the pool is a real bonus if young children are staying.The photos on the website are a little out of date but broadly villa was as described. The owners provided a welcome basket of various products which was much appreciated and communication throughout our stay was excellent. However, the owner has two cats that live at the villa (and guests are expected to feed them). The cats are friendly but the male cat was a real nuisance around food, jumping onto the table whilst we were eating and constantly trying to steal food. Renters who dislike cats or are allergic to them should perhaps look elsewhere or insist the owners take the cats away.

We had the most amazing holiday. Brand new only three years old villa. Was perfect and had everything you could need and more. Two pools, one roof top with views cleaned daily, fresh towels in the week. Stunning views and tranquil location. All the appliances you need plus a fantastic outdoor kitchen area and bbq. Nearby town was family friendly and good value for money, beautiful sandy beach and turquoise sea nearby. The hosts are fabulous before and during our stay. We look forward to retuning again very soon!!

We spent a very lovely holidays here . The hostess is extremely kind and always here when you need for an advice or something in the house .we recommend it for sure !!!

We had an amazing time staying at Villa Eftychia. Hosts were super friendly and welcoming and could not have been more helpful throughout our stay. Villa was perfect and pool was lovely. Only a 2 min drive to Almyrida resort where we spent many hot sunny days at the beach.

La maison est très belle et bien équipée. Tout le jardin est clos et équipé de jeux, parfait pour de jeunes enfants. La plage est à 5min en voiture ainsi que restaurant, magasin alimentaire etc. Les hôtes sont très accueillants et disponibles. Tout était au top pour passer de belles vacances.

It was the most warm welcome when we arrived at the villa. The hosts are so friendly and helpful! They thought of everything to have an amazing stay at the villa. And during the stay the communication is perfect. They will help with every question you have, and provide you with the best travel and diner tips. This was by far the best experience we ever had! ❤️

Eftychia in Greek means Happiness: and that describes exactly what you'll feel if you choose this property for your stay!!
Everything about this property is simply perfect.
It offers a gorgeous garden, with plenty of trees, plants and flowers , all of them perfectly kept. What impressed us the most were the great number of lovely spots to relax: the 2 hammocks, at least 3 hanging chairs, sunloungers, 3 tables and chairs to sit and eat outside... one in the main garden, one on the first floor terrace, one at the Bbq: you will be spoiled for choices! We used to have breakfast on the terrace on the first floor, to enjoy the lovely view of the hills, and the sea in the distance in early morning, while we prefered the one in the garden, in front of the enlighted pool for dinner! For children a real playground has been created: swings of every kind , slide, a cute wood house, a climbing arch....and the 2 pools!!! Indoor, the property is not less attractive: the master bedroom is dreamy, with a gorgeous view and access to the jacuzzi! The other 2 bedrooms are lovely and both have access also on the garden. Every room is provided with smart tv and Ac. Also the kitchen area is just fabolous: you will find everything you may need: Oven, dishwasher, many tools to cook... and eveything is very convenient: you can access the first floor also from an external staircase for example, there is a nice area to hang clothes after using the washing maschine, the villa is equpped with an alarm system, and the outdoor automatic light system works perfectly. But what makes this property so special, are of course the owners and their welcome.
Roxani and George are the best owner you will be able to meet! Their welcome is so warm that you will feel immediately home! Always available, easy to get in touch with, always smiling: they will spoil you with Greek speacialties ( wine, organic oil and eggs of own production, cakes, fruits...) , and you will be surprised of all the details they have thought of to make your stay comfortable. We were provided with make up removers discs, repellent, toothbrushes,
sun lotions, spices.... everything you might think of!!!
They have filled the villa with so much love that you can really feel it, everywhere.
We also loved the location: Almyrida is lovely and only few minutes drive away: there you find everything: restaurants , shops, minimarkets, a nice beach and Geaorge's kiosk! And, if you feel like driving, you can plan amazing daily trips; we went to Chania, Rethymno, Balos beach, Elafonnisis Beach, Falasarna... we really had a holiday we will always remember!!!

A peaceful paradise minutes from the sea! Everything about our vacation here was peaceful & relaxing, I would highly recommend both the villa & the hosts. Crete is a beautiful island & we’d love to come back!The house is set in spacious surroundings with hammocks, hanging chairs, plenty of seating options & comfortable sunloungers! Inside had luxury conveniences such as a washing machine, dishwasher, powerful showers & AC in the lounge area & all bedrooms. Also large TVs in all the rooms with Netflix & many other options. The decoration is a mix of modern inside & traditional outside with plenty of rustic features like old bicycles, radios or huge ceramic pots! There is a lovely BBQ area, play equipment & numerous places to soak up the sun. The Villa was very clean with hard floors throughout. There were towels for inside & others for the pool, plus the property was cleaned mid-way through our stay! The villa is about 4 minutes drive from Almyrida which is a small village but has plenty of essentials shops and a variety of restaurants. A hire car is essential as the house is a short distance up a short dirt track. Kalyves has a bigger supermarket around 10 minutes drive and then you have larger places about 30 minutes away such as Chania. The villa was as described, it has AC in the main lounge-kitchen and in all the bedrooms. In the villa was a welcome basket with wine and local luxuries! The fridge also had a selection of food and there were everyday essentials provided like toilet roll, hand soap and consumables. The kitchen was really well equipped with all the essentials and more! There was an oven, large fridge freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, utensils, even eggs provided from the owners chickens! The two swimming pools were both high quality & perfect size for water volleyball! There were plenty of sun loungers and places to sit, numerous options spread across the three outside floors of the villa. Excellent beds, with nice mattresses and good quality pillows and bedding. Excellent showers and sinks, nice decoration and clean. Nice touches like wash bins to collect your clothes up in.The decoration is a mix of modern inside & traditional outside with plenty of rustic features like old bicycles, radios or huge ceramic pots! There is a lovely BBQ area, play equipment & numerous patios and places to soak up the sun.Roxani & George own & host a beautiful villa set in the hills with great views. The hosts are excellent communicators available 24/7. They also gave good recommendations to keep us occupied throughout our stay!

We had the most wonderful 2 weeks at the beautiful Villa Eftychia. It is nestled in a beautiful peaceful position and close is to Almyrida which is a lovely friendly village suitable for families. The villa is simply stunning. Everything we needed was there and more. It is beautifully maintained, is spotlessly clean and is a fantastic place to relax and unwind. The pools were beautifully clean and warm too! The Villa belongs to Roxani and Georgio who are truly wonderful hosts. It has been a pleasure to meet them. They were always on hand to see if we needed anything and were easily contactable. They really are lovely people who we will definitely keep in touch with. I would highly recommend the Villa. It really is a home from home in a very beautiful spot. It is run and maintained by the family who own it who obviously love it and it is easy to see why. We will most definitely be visiting again. One of our best vacations. Villa Eftychia is simply charming, not only because of the amazing gardens, the beautiful pools and modern accessories but also because of the heart warming hospitality of Roxani and George.

We enjoyed every single day we spent in Villa Eftychia. The pools were always clean and taken care of on a regular basis. The beds were amazingly comfortable. All rooms are equipped with air conditioning and TV sets.

We will recommend this Villa to our friends and families in the future. Thank you again Roxani and George. You have made us fall in love with Greece and the greek people.

Toll im Grünen gelegenes Haus mit schönem Garten. Nette Vermieter, die sofort auf Fragen antworten. Klima und WLAN prima. Küchenausstattung ok. Super zum Erholen und Ausspannen. Almyrida mit Strand und Tavernen 5 Minuten mit dem Auto. Preis Leistung sehr gut, zumindest im April und mit Frühbucherrabatt. Insgesamt eine runde Sache, wir würden wieder buchen.

We had a fantastic stay at Villa Eftychia. The Villa was beautiful. Spotlessly clean, fantastic facilities, stunning views and in a great location. George and Roxani were brilliant hosts and could not have done anymore to make our holiday better, he even gave cold refreshments to us all upon arrival and a lovely bottle of wine at the Villa! We have just returned from a magical holiday in Almyrida, Crete. Villa Eftychia is absolutely beautiful and made all the more special by wonderful and generous hosts, Roxani and George. They are lovely people and so friendly, kind and helpful throughout our stay. The villa is beautiful and carefully thought out with all the amenities you need and lots of personal touches to make your stay perfect (thank you for the lovely gifts!) We are a family of 2 adults and 4 teenage children, and we loved the luxury of having 2 pools plus lots of room in the villa, garden, and plenty of seating areas to relax. There is also a pizza oven! The villa is situated with views onto olive trees and countryside, sea and mountains - what more could you ask! It is so peaceful and calming. Almyrida is friendly with a lovely beach and restaurants. I could honestly write a lot more but just to say we highly recommend visiting and would truly love to return!

Highly recommended villa. Beautifully situated 20 mins walk from almyrida in total privacy surrounded by trees and wonderful gardens, we spent many happy days in the fantastic pool, and evenings enjoying the peace and quiet and the views across the countryside and to the sea in the distance. Loved walking to the bakery in almyrida each morning. Roxani and George were perfect hosts. Very helpful , we did not need to ask for help but the hosts went above our expectations providing wine, eggs, pastries and vegetables during our stay, and the villa was cleaned halfway through.We loved our holiday here and hope one day to be back!

The villa was lovely, well set up with everything we needed for an enjoyable restful holiday.
We liked the setting and semi rural location for a peaceful break. The hosts were superb and really helpful. The location was great and it was easy driving to visit other pats of the area.
